This position provides coordination of the daily activities of the Senior Center, including the provision of food services, case management and recreational activities, as well as community outreach and supervision of volunteers.
Typical Responsibilities:
1. Conducts community outreach in order to educate and recruit seniors into the center
2. Arrange the delivery and provision of daily nutritional meals for elders
3. Provide case management, in order to assist elders access, social, health, housing, legal and other needed services, as well as provide support and advocacy
4. Schedules and organizes recreational activities for senior center
5. Organizes educational presentations
6. Prepares written communication, including flyers, brochures and news letters
7. Recruits and supervises volunteers
8. Supervises part-time Senior Center Assistant
9. Required to participate in organizational fundraisers
10. Undertake other duties that may be required.
Required: Experience working with vulnerable populations, experience in social services, along with knowledge of Portuguese, Cape Verdean, and Brazilian communities, Bilingual/Bicultural in Portuguese/English.
Preferred: BA in related field.
Starting annual salary range commensurable with experience and education – $52K-$60K.
