Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Case Worker will be responsible for the following:
- Advocates and makes referrals for clients in areas of immigration (including assisting with
preparing and filing N-400s and other citizenship-related forms), health insurance enrollment,
Social Security and other government entitlement programs to enhance economic security, as
well as assistance with utilities; housing; professional training and job placement; medical care;
legal services; ESOL and other educational programs; tenant and consumer rights, and other
human service needs. - Provides translation/interpreting for services and necessary documents.
- Maintain accurate and timely client records, case notes, and documentation in accordance with
agency policies and funder requirements. - Prepares and submits monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for funding agencies in consultation
with Program Supervisor and with approval from Program Director - Participates in in-service training programs.
- Assesses client needs, develops and implements service plans and makes appropriate referrals to
legal, medical, social and other services. - Participate in community outreach activities, workshops, and educational presentations to
promote MAPS services. - Required to participate in organizational fundraisers.
- Any other duties that may, from time to time, be required
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field preferred
Experience: Some experience in case management and crisis intervention
Special Skills: Bilingual/Bicultural in Portuguese/English, knowledge of Portuguese speaking
communities.
Salary Range: The annualized salary range of $50,000-$56,000 (plus excellent Fringe Benefits) is
commensurable with experience and qualifications.
