Two community business owners in charge of the bar at the 2018 Boston Portuguese Festival donated 100% of the profits generated to the MAPS Senior Center.
Walter Sousa, owner of Inman Square Wine and Spirits, and Joe Cerqueira, owner of the Rocco’s Restaurant & Bar, joined forces to run the bar at the June 10th event at Boston City Hall Plaza and raised a total of $12,174.
We are very grateful that these two generous business leaders and longtime MAPS supporters decided it was more important to support some of the most vulnerable members of our communities than making a profit for their business, and recruited their friends and families to volunteer at the event.
In addition, the bar was sponsored by Budweiser and M.S. Walker, who contributed a combined total of $5,000 to support the Boston Portuguese Festival.
