Under the direction of the Executive Director, the Program Director will be responsible for overseeing all program and contract functions, providing direct supervision to program staff and ensuring adherence to policies and procedures set forth by MAPS, as well as our funders including MDPH, CDC and BPHC.  The program provides comprehensive HIV/STI prevention, education, testing and case management services.

The primary responsibilities of this flexible position are:

  1. Daily supervision of program staff utilizing continuous quality improvement procedures.
  2. Recruit, hire and train program staff and volunteers.
  3. Engage in conducting prevention and screening services, along with staff for ongoing program monitoring and evaluation.
  4. Manage the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual program reports as required by funders.
  5. Maintain highly effective relationships with funders and community partners
  6. Provide leadership in the development and design of HIV/AIDS public health service protocols, risk assessment and behavior modification interventions.
  7. Attend required trainings, meetings, and workshops with funders, partners and community.
  8. Take leadership in implementing and evaluating program activities and services.
  9. Oversee program social marketing activities
  10. Engage in future development of the programs, including preparing proposal and researching other funding opportunities.
  11. Develop and maintain collateral relationships for the purpose of program collaboration and referral.
  12. Assist in other program and organizational requirements as needed.
  13. Participate and engage in organizational and community events.

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required in human services or other related field.  Master’s degree in public health, social work or related field preferred. Three to five years experience in supervisory, managerial role within the HIV/AIDS, STIs, TB, Substance Abuse prevention and education, or other similar public health field. Strong oral and written communication skills and Bilingual/Bicultural in Portuguese-English required.  Start salary range commensurable with experience and education: $60,000 to $70,000, plus excellent benefit package.
