The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) raised $44K at the third edition of the Chip-In for Charity Golf Tournament benefiting the MAPS Senior Center in Cambridge, which took place on September 11, 2020, at the Juniper Hill Golf Course, in Northborough, MA.
The event, co-chaired by Rui Domingos, President/ CEO of MIT Federal Credit Union, and Walter Sousa, owner of Inman Square Wine and Spirits, gathered approximately 100 community members, business leaders, and supporters, and followed the latest COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.
“It’s remarkable to see so many business and community leaders take the time to help raise critical funds to promote the quality of life for our seniors,” said Rui Domingos. “We’re thankful for the opportunity to spend a wonderful day of golfing with friends who we haven’t seen in a while, all for a great cause,” added Walter Sousa.
“The tournament surpassed all of our expectations,” said Paulo Pinto, MPA, MAPS Executive Director. “At one point we weren’t certain that it could even take place due to concerns over the pandemic, but thanks to the amazing leadership of our tournament co-chairs Rui and Walter, to our community’s outstanding support, and to the generosity of all of our sponsors and donors, this was our most successful tournament yet!”
The tournament was presented by Titanium sponsors Auxzillium IT Services & Solutions, Couto Management Group, East Cambridge Savings Bank, and Naveo Credit Union.
