We are raising funds to help those in our community who are most in need of assistance during the pandemic, and we need your support.
We are reaching out to our community to give us a hand, either by making a donation or reaching out to their friends on social media. You can share our own Facebook Fundraiser, or create your own.
How to create a Facebook fundraiser benefiting MAPS:
Step 1:
Save the image below on your desktop or phone, then select one of the text options below and copy it.
Option 1:
Throughout May, I’m joining forces with the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers to support our most vulnerable community members during these unprecedented times. Please join me in donating to my fundraiser on behalf of MAPS. Let’s spread our generosity across the Commonwealth this month!
Option 2:
Fun Fact: with more than half a million people, Portuguese speakers are the second largest linguistic minority in Massachusetts! That’s why this May, I’m standing with the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers to provide essential services for people who are struggling to get by in these hard times.
MAPS serves more than 20,000 community members each year! With a donation as small as $50, you can help put food on the table for a vulnerable senior for a week. $500 can even help feed an entire family of four! Please join me in supporting MAPS, so that everyone in our community can remain healthy and strong, together.
Step 2:
Make sure you are signed in on Facebook, then click here.
Step 3:
Follow the instructions on the page, making sure to type in “Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers” under “Who are you raising money for?”
Set a realistic fundraising goal, and set the end date to May 31, 2020.
Click next to go to the next section.
Step 4:
Here you can give the fundraiser a title. We recommend Unity and Action | União e Ação, but you can chose your own. Next, paste the text you copied above. Feel free to personalize it, too!
Click next when ready.
Final step:
Under suggested photo, upload the image you saved on Step 1 by clicking on the small camera icon on the bottom right corner. Once the image is uploaded, click create, and that’s it! Your MAPS Fundraiser on Facebook is done, and ready to be shared!
