The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) and the Hobart Park Neighborhood Association (HPNA) will host a COVID-19 vaccination clinic at the DCR Artesani Park on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The event will happen from 1 to 5 PM in the picnic area at 1255 Soldiers Field Rd, Boston, MA.

Health Innovations, Inc., a health and human services organization partnering with MAPS, will administer the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine to community members 18 and up. Previous registration is not required, and those getting the vaccine will receive a $25 gift card to Market Basket or Stop&Shop. Walk-ins are encouraged, and parking is available at the park.

The organizations are inviting community members not yet vaccinated to attend the event. The vaccine is free for all, regardless of immigration status or lack of ID or health insurance. All services are provided in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, and interpreters for other languages will be available over the phone.

Founded in 1992, the HPNA builds and sustains a sense of community in Brighton’s Hobart Park neighborhood. HPNA helps maintain Hobart Park as a significant community meeting space and has improved the neighborhood’s access to the Charles River.

MAPS has served the Portuguese-speaking communities of Massachusetts and others since 1970. The organization offers a wide range of free health and social services through its six offices in Cambridge, Somerville, Brighton, Dorchester, Framingham, and Lowell.
