The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) is inviting community members to attend its 2025 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 28th, from 6 PM to 8 PM on the second floor of the organization’s Cambridge office on 1046 Cambridge St.

The Annual Meeting offers an important opportunity for MAPS to share its progress, challenges, and vision for the future while engaging directly with the communities it serves across Massachusetts.

Paulo Pinto, MPA, MAPS CEO, will deliver brief remarks regarding the state of the organization and the challenges and accomplishments of the previous fiscal year, including the closure of its Brighton office, funding cuts to essential MAPS programs, and more.

“Our Annual Meeting is a chance to reflect on both our progress and perseverance while renewing our commitment to serving and empowering Portuguese-speaking communities across Massachusetts,” said Paulo Pinto. “Even in the face of funding cuts and other challenges, MAPS had an extraordinary year, thanks to the commitment of our staff, volunteers, and supporters.”

MAPS Board President Patricia DeOliveira will welcome guests on behalf of the Board, and Treasurer Elizabeth Chaves will present a summary of the organization’s financial report. Those in attendance will also receive a copy of the organization’s 2025 Annual Report, which will be made available on the health and social services organization’s website at maps-inc.org and shared on social media.

During the event, MAPS will also recognize the contributions of its dedicated volunteers through the presentation of Certificates of Appreciation. Refreshments and a light buffet dinner will be served.

MAPS has served the Portuguese-speaking communities of Massachusetts and others since 1970. The organization offers many free health and social services through its six offices in Cambridge, Somerville, Everett, Dorchester, Lowell, and Framingham.
