Several MAPS Staff members and volunteers took part in this year’s Boston Pride Parade, on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
The parade started in Copley Square at noon and ended at City Hall Plaza, where the Boston Pride Festival took place. All along the way, MAPS staff and volunteers handed out informational materials about HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs), as well as free condoms.
MAPS’ HIV/STI Services offer free and confidential testing and risk reduction information on a regular basis at its office, as well as free weekly walk-in clinics.
In addition, program staff do outreach and participate in many community events throughout the year where clients can also be tested and find health information free of charge.
The program is funded by the US Centers for Disease Control & Prevention, and the Mass. Dept. of Public Health.
