The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) will hold its Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 24th, from 6 to 8 PM in the second floor community center of its Cambridge Office, located at 1046 Cambridge St. MAPS members and the public are invited to attend and hear about the 47-year-old nonprofit health and social service organization’s accomplishments during the past year, and to take a first look at MAPS’ new website and updated logo.
MAPS members will also have the opportunity to vote for Board members in the agency’s Annual Election, and to take part in recognizing MAPS volunteers receiving Certificates of Appreciation for their many hours of service to the organization and its clients.
MAPS is accepting Board nominations from current MAPS members in good standing at its Cambridge Office through October 20th. If you are interested in running for a Board position and are not yet a MAPS member, you can join online at https://maps-inc.org/participate/ and then submit your Board nomination by contacting Lucinda Morais at (617) 864-7600.
The new MAPS website, which will go live at the organization’s Annual Meeting, has a cleaner, more accessible and mobile-friendly look, with a stronger focus on visual elements and streamlined information, while the new version of the MAPS logo has a more modern feel, while maintaining the same identifying elements as the current version: a group of people supporting and lifting each other up, symbolic of the organization’s mission of promoting cultural unity and providing community members with the resources and information they need to lead healthy and successful lives.
