Approximately 100 community members, business leaders and supporters participated in the event, which was co-chaired by Rui Domingos, CEO of Naveo Credit Union, and Walter Sousa, owner of Inman Square Wine & Spirits, longtime friends and supporters of MAPS. The fundraising tournament also included a silent auction, a 50/50 raffle and a lunch banquet.
The best foursome of the tournament was composed of Roy Dias, Joe Couto, John Martins and John Bettencourt, who won a Foursome at the Juniper Hill Golf Course, and a 2-hour indoor golf experience from the Lynx Fitness Club.
Players Daniel Rego, Jeffrey DiGregorio, Jason Costa, and Brian Pavao were awarded the second prize – four $50 Gift Certificates donated by Rocco’s Restaurant in Wilmington, MA, and a 2-hour indoor golf experience from the Lynx Fitness Club.
The third prize, a Porto Tonic Cocktail Kit donated by MAPS Executive Director Paulo Pinto, went to Michael Paquin, Patrick Grace, Rick Fernandes and John Correia. Prizes were also given to golfer with the longest drive, Tom Barry, and Closest to the Pin, Messias Sousa.
“We hope that everyone had as much fun as we did,” said Paulo Pinto, MPA, MAPS Executive Director. “We are very thankful to be a part of such a generous community, and, on behalf of the many Portuguese, Brazilian and Cabo Verdean seniors we serve every day, we thank all of our sponsors, Silent Auction donors, golfers and lunch attendees, and hope they’ll join us next year for our 3rd Golf Tournament.”
