This position provides coordination of the daily activities of the Senior Center, including the provision of food services, case management and recreational activities, as well as community outreach and supervision of volunteers.
Typical Responsibilities:
- Organizes and schedules recreational activities for the senior center.
- Arranges the delivery and provision of daily nutritional meals for the seniors.
- Provides case management, in order to assist elders’ access to social, health, housing, legal and other needed services, as well as provide support and advocacy.
- Organizes educational presentations.
- Conducts community outreach in order to educate and recruit seniors into the center.
- Prepares written communications and reports.
- Recruits and supervises volunteers.
- Supervises part-time Senior Center Assistant.
- Participates in organizational fundraisers.
- Undertakes other duties that may be required.
Required: Experience working with vulnerable populations, experience in social services, along with knowledge of Portuguese, Cape Verdean, and Brazilian communities, Bilingual/Bicultural in Portuguese/English.
Preferred Qualifications: BA in related field.
Starting annual salary range commensurable with experience and education – $52K-$60K.
