The Development & Communications Manager will be a full-time member of the MAPS
Team, based in the Cambridge Office. We are seeking an organized an energetic professional
who is motivated to work with a diverse, multicultural team of dedicated staff that’s passionate
about serving the Portuguese-speaking community.
As the Development Manager, they will be responsible for a variety of fund development
projects, under the supervision of the Development Director. This position requires independent
judgement and initiative on assignments that are time sensitive in nature. Responsibilities
include:
- Researches, writes, submits and follows up on agency funding proposals and reports
- Helps lead planning and implementation of the annual MAPS Awards Gala, the annual Chip in
for Charity Golf Tournament, the Holiday Appeal and other fundraising activities. - Helps develop community sponsorships and build the MAPS donor/membership bases
- Assists in preparing/distributing development -related correspondence and promotional materials
- Organizing and maintaining the fundraising/general mailing database Monitor the MAPS client
database and address technical glitches, incorrect data entry, etc., that hinder users’ ability to
retrieve data needed to support fundraising, grant writing and other efforts.
As the Communications Manager, they will be responsible for maintaining and growing
audiences on social media platforms and maintaining a posting schedule, regularly creating
platform and program-specific content such as text posts, videos, and graphics.
Under the supervision of the Communications Director, they will also assist in creating
and distributing multimedia outreach campaigns, press releases, print and digital newsletters,
flyers, brochures, and other print and digital publications. They will also assist in producing,
recording, and editing video content, including interviews with MAPS staff, clients, and other
stakeholders, updating the organization’s website, and translating internal documents as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. Fundraising/ development experience preferred.
Must have excellent written and oral communications skills and knowledge of PowerPoint,
Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Premiere, Adobe Illustrator, or other graphic design/
publishing/ photo editing software. Photography and video-editing knowledge is highly desired.
Must be creative, detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to handle multiple tasks and meet
deadlines. Must be fluently bilingual/ bicultural in Portuguese and English, both written
and oral.
Starting salary range commensurable with experience and education: $54.000-$60.000
