O Prémio MAPS Jorge Fidalgo de Serviço Comunitário é apresentado anualmente a pessoas que demonstraram, através de suas ações, um forte compromisso com o bem estar social, educacional, cultural e político das várias comunidades de Língua Portuguesa na área da Grande Boston. Em 2001, o ano da sua morte inesperada, a Diretoria da MAPS decidiu nomear o prémio de Serviço Comunitário em homenagem a Jorge Fidalgo, um membro honorável da comunidade caboverdeana em Boston.
