The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) is inviting community members to attend its 2024 Annual Meeting on Tuesday, October 22nd, from 6:30 pm to 8 pm on the second floor of the organization’s Cambridge office on 1046 Cambridge St. MAPS guests will have an opportunity to learn more about the health and social services organization’s accomplishments of the past fiscal year, including the purchase of its new Everett office and the opening of a new location in Somerville.

Paulo Pinto, MPA, MAPS CEO, will deliver brief remarks regarding the state of the organization, the challenges and accomplishments of the previous fiscal year, and upcoming priorities and opportunities. Interim Board President Patricia DeOliveira will welcome guests on behalf of the Board, and Treasurer Susan Pacheco will present a summary of the organization’s finances.

During the annual meeting, MAPS will also recognize the contributions of its many volunteers with a certificate of appreciation. Refreshments and a light buffet dinner will be served.

“Our Annual Meeting is a wonderful opportunity to share our successes and challenges with our community”, said Paulo Pinto. “MAPS had an outstanding fiscal year 2024 when it comes to our programs and services, our finances, and our growth as an organization, and I look forward to celebrating with our community.”

The health and social services organization also seeks to fill three open positions on its Board of Directors during this fiscal year. Those interested in applying can contact Lucinda Morais, MAPS Director of Human Resources and Administration, at lmorais@maps-inc.org or 617-864-7600.
