Greater Boston / Full-Time (minimum 35 hours/ week)

Under the direction of the Director of Domestic Violence & Sexual Assault Services, the Advocate will be responsible for providing assistance to victims/ survivors of DV&SA through: intakes, assessments, support referrals, support groups, follow-ups, and other necessary services.

  1. Conduct client intakes and assessment
  2. Provide crisis intervention and support services
  3. Advocate and accompany clients to courts or other important appointments
  4. Manage caseload in a timely and effective way
  5. Interpret and translate for clients as needed
  6. Collect data and submit monthly data reports to the director of the program
  7. Participate in outreach activities to educate and inform Brazilian, Cape Verdean and Portuguese immigrant communities about domestic violence and sexual assault, and services available

Preferred: Experience providing domestic violence & sexual assault services, and performing community outreach, desirable, but training will be provided. Bachelor’s degree with three to five years experience in social services. Counseling/ direct client services experience preferred, along with knowledge of the Brazilian, Cape Verdean and Portuguese communities.

Required: Bilingual/Bicultural in Portuguese/ English, strong oral and written communications skills, and ability to work in stressful situations. Starting annual salary range commensurable with experience: $40.000-$46.000.
